Kochi: A project that could change the future of Kochi (Kerala) is about to take shape. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) City is being built here. This will not just be a tech park, but a complete modern city for living, studying, working, and traveling.
This project will be built at a cost of approximately ₹25,000 crore and is targeted for completion by 2030. Significantly, its construction will provide direct employment to approximately 200,000 people and indirect employment to over 400,000 people.
Why will AI City be special?
- This will be the first AI township in Kerala.
- Everything here, from the traffic system, civic services, water and waste management, will run with the help of AI.
- This city will be carbon negative and water positive, which means it will benefit the environment rather than harm it.
- There will be a modern system to collect rainwater and manage waste using AI technology.

- More than 5,000 flats and houses will be built for living in this city.
- Schools and colleges for children,
- Hospital for health
- Shopping malls for shopping and entertainment,
- And there will also be sports complexes for sports lovers.
Additionally, 20 million square feet of commercial space will be developed for high-tech companies and global capability centers. The entire city will be built on approximately 300 acres of land, spread across the Kizhakkambalam and Kunnathunad areas of Ernakulam district.
