The Russian President said that PM Modi always thinks about his country first. Apart from this, Putin also called PM Modi the most intelligent leader.
The move came as a pressure tactic on both India and Russia in a bid to stop the Kremlin’s ongoing military conflict with Ukraine. Amid ongoing trade negotiations between India and the US, Putin expressed faith that PM Modi would never bow down to the tariff pressure.

Putin expressed confidence in Modi and said that India will not accept any insult. He clearly said that if India stops buying energy from Russia, it will have to suffer losses. But the people and leadership of India will never allow this to happen. Putin expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that Modi will not take any such step. Putin also questioned America’s double policy. He said that America itself buys enriched uranium from Russia, but asks other countries to stay away from Russian energy.
Further Putin said there’s no political aspect here; it’s purely an economic calculation. Will India abandon our energy resources? If so, it will suffer some losses. Estimates vary; some say it could be around $9-10 billion. But if it doesn’t refuse, sanctions will be imposed, and the losses will be just as significant.
Putin spoke on America’s duplicity
Putin also cited the US’s uranium relationship with Moscow, saying that while Washington buys enriched uranium from Russia, it calls on other countries to stop buying Russian energy products. The comments come amid US attacks on India over its purchase of Russian oil, with Putin expressing confidence in PM Modi that he will not bow to America.
