Prime Minister Narendra Modi was at Rajghat on Thursday when Mahatma Gandhi was commemorated with the Jayanti to honour the Father of the Nation. He also visited Vijayghat during the trip where he paid his floral tributes to the late Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. In his speech about the importance of the day, PM Modi pointed to the fact that the principles of Mahatma Gandhi could alter the trajectory of the history of man.
Posting his ideas on the social media site X, PM Modi wrote that Gandhi Jayanti is the day when the great life of Bapu should be honoured. His principles transformed the history of man. He demonstrated the aspect that courage and simplicity could make a great change. He thought that service and compassion were effective instruments of empowering human beings. We will be taking the right line that he demonstrated in our work to create a developed India.
As part of the celebrations of the Gandhi Jayanti, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs declared that on October 2, the government will hold special Gram Sabhas in one lakh villages across the country where the tribal population is predominant. These villages will have the Tribal Gram Vision 2030 formally honoured as part of the Adi Seva Parv and will enable people to be actively involved in their development.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister, S. T. Juel Oram, stressed that by enacting the Tribal Gram Vision 2030 declaration in all villages, communities have a right to become co-producers of their development pathway. He had added that this is a decisive move towards a developed India by 2047.
The Adi Seva Parv started on September 17 and will end on October 2. It is a major component of the Adi Karmayogi Abhiyan, which PM Modi had launched in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on September 17. With this campaign, the government seeks to empower grassroots development as well as ensure that the tribal communities play a positive role in designing their future.
