Reportedly, Telugu actress Dimple Hayathi and her husband, Victor David, have been booked on charges of beating up their domestic help. A complaint was filed against the househelp at the Filmnagar Police Station in Hyderabad, and the case was registered there.
The current case is a continuation of the legal difficulties the couple has had in the past. A criminal case was filed against Dimple Hayathi and Victor David in 2023, over allegedly damaging a vehicle parked at his home in the Jubilee Hills neighbourhood, Hyderabad, of IPS officer Rahul Hegde.
This accident was actually when David hit the car of an officer as an accident. The actor was confronted by the driver of Rahul Hegde, whose name is Chetan Kumar, regarding the damage. It is reported that the situation had gotten worse as Hayathi apparently kicked the car back, and Kumar had filed a formal complaint at Jubilee Hills Police Station.
The couple is under fresh police investigation due to a new complaint by their domestic help. The exact nature of the alleged abuse has not been revealed in detail, but it is reported that the authorities are investigating the case. The complaint by the domestic worker is said to be on mistreatment and verbal abuse, which the police responded to by taking official action against it.
This is a big legal hurdle to the actress and her husband, who have so far enjoyed a relatively low profile despite their existence in the Telugu film industry. Neither Hayathi nor Victor David has yet issued any statement on the new charges.
