The police of Manipur reported that the law-and-order situation in the state was normal in the last 24 hours, and a number of arrests were conducted in search and combing operations, which were undertaken in various districts. The missions were targeted towards insurgents and extortion businesses, among other criminal elements, in marginal and vulnerable locations.
The Director General of Police (DGP) of Manipur, Rajiv Singh, engaged with the Medical Officers of the Manipur Police Battalions, appreciated their service and talked about ways to improve medical facilities to benefit the personnel who are posted in various battalions and districts. However, on the other hand, intelligence-based combing operations and area domination by security forces were still being observed to ensure peace and security in the valley and hill districts.
On Monday, three active insurgents were all arrested. Naoshekpam Sanathoi Meitel Leichil, an NRFM cadre of the Khoijuman Mayai Leikal, Bishnupur district, was arrested in his own locality. Naoton, the active cadres of RPF/PLA and resident of Kadangband Mayal Leikai, Imphal West district, were arrested under Lamsang Police Station as Sanasam Sanatomba Singh alias Naoton (54). Police found him in possession of two INSAS LMG magazines, two camouflage helmets, five BP plates, four BP vests, a mobile phone and a phone. Also, KYKL cadres Urikhinbam Premjit Singh (41) of Lamjao Mayai Leikai, Kakching district, were arrested at Paona Bazar with an extortion case, and 3,280 rupees and a mobile handset were recovered.
Two villagers of Ngari Raidulomai Village, Senapati district, were arrested in another operation at Kwakta Terakhongshangbi under Phougakchao Ikhai Police Station in Bishnupur district. The police confiscated 11 cases of soaps with an approximate weight of 161 grams of heroin powder, two mobile phones and two Aadhaar cards.
Two passengers, Imphal Airport, have caught 21.420 kg of cannabis in the baggage of one person, Laishram Vikash Singh (20) and one person, Ngangbam Nelson Meitei (19). On the administrative side of the case, 33 challans were issued for a total of 61,500 fines and four vehicles were cleared of tinted films on the 28th of September.
