Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh broke his silence on the Pahalgam terror attack, his film Sardaarji 3 controversy with Pakistani actor Hania Aamir and the recent match between India and Pakistan. Speaking at his concert in Malaysia, Diljit said that his film Sardarji 3 was shot before the terror attack, and the match was played after it. He also said that he has many answers to give, but has been quiet.

Several clips emerged on social media platforms featuring Diljit saluting the National Flag. He said, “Woh mere desh da jhanda hai (That’s my country’s flag). Always respect.” He then took permission from the audience to speak about a few things.

In the 2:04-minute clip that is going viral on internet, he is shown honoring the national flag before pausing his act to respond to the criticism. Speaking in Punjabi, he remarked, “My film Sardaar Ji 3 was filmed in February while the matches were ongoing. Subsequently, the unfortunate Pahalgam terror attack occurred. At that moment, and even now, we have consistently prayed for severe consequences for the terrorists. I support my country. The matches took place after the tragedy. There is a significant distinction between this and my film. It was filmed earlier, but the matches occurred later.”

“The national media attempted to depict me as anti-national, but Punjabis and the Sikh community have never opposed the nation,” the artist stated.
