Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party leader Tej Pratap Yadav made a strong declaration on Saturday after a cryptic message on social media by his sister, Rohini Acharya, who is the daughter of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. In reference to the forthcoming elections to the Bihar Assembly, Tej Pratap said that anybody who insults his sisters would feel the wrath of the Sudarshan Chakra of Lord Krishna.
The alert follows political hypotheses since the opponents of RJD attempted to utilize the post by Acharya to attack the prime leader of the party, Tejashwi Yadav, who is her elder sister. The expelled Tej Pratap of the party came forward to defend Rohini. “Rohini is much older than me. As a child, I played in her lap. The sacrifice she has given is amazing, not only as a daughter or sister but also as a mother, which he said was done by her in donating a kidney to their father, Lalu Prasad Yadav. I am entirely on my sister on this aspect.” He said that whoever dares to offend her must meet with Krishna and his Sudarshan Chakra.
Rohini Acharya, in his turn, has turned his social media profile into a private one and unfollowed all the RJD leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav. The scandal is also said to have been triggered when she protested against Sanjay Yadav, the aide of Tejashwi, using the front seat in the party campaign vehicle.
There are also unconfirmed reports that Acharya had applied to be given an assembly poll ticket in the upcoming elections, which the party leadership had apparently refused. She had already contested in the previous Lok Sabha elections, but unsuccessfully in Saran.
As the Bihar Assembly elections will occur later this year, though the dates are yet to be announced by the Election Commission, this family and party wrangle brings in a fresh twist and flavor of drama into the RJD as it gears up towards the polls. According to political commentators, these domestic divides may serve as the major campaign subjects.
