Raipur: On the occasion of the 61st foundation day of the All India Terapanth Yuvak Parishad, a worldwide mega blood donation camp will be organized today, i.e., on 17th September. Under this Mega Blood Donation Camp, more than 7500 camps will be organized in cities across the country as well as in more than 50 countries. Blood donation camps will also be organized at various places in all the districts of Chhattisgarh today. Council officials stated that the All India Terapanth Council has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records for its record of donating millions of units of blood simultaneously. In 2016, blood donations were organized year-round. Substantial amounts of plasma were donated in 2018 and 2020. In this vein, the Blood Donation Amrit Mahotsav was launched in 2022, across the country and abroad, during which approximately 2.5 lakh units of blood were collected. Now, preparations are underway to create history again.
In the capital city of Raipur, camps will be set up at several locations, including the Nalanda Campus, the Central Library, AIIMS, and MATS University. These locations are selected to engage as many young people as possible in this social initiative. Blood donation camps will also be held at the Lions Club, Magneto Mall, and Colors Mall.
Earlier on September 8, Governor Om Prakash Mathur in Sikkim, Governor Gulabchand Kataria in Punjab released the poster of Blood Donation Amrit Mahotsav 2.0. Health Minister Shyambihari Jaiswal released the banner in Chhattisgarh.
More than 10 lakh units of blood have been collected in the mega blood donation camp organized by the All India Terapanth Yuvak Parishad in the last 10 years. This time there are preparations to create another record. The council officials said that this event will be organized with the aim of meeting the shortage of blood at the global level, making the youth aware of blood donation and serving humanity.
