The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, and Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, went to Delhi today to attend a number of significant meetings. According to the official program, CM Sai and Dy CM Sharma will meet with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, whereas Finance Minister Choudhary will take part in one of the most important GST Council meetings.
CM Sai addressed the media at the airport before leaving and told them about the visit. He added that on his one-day trip, he would also meet Home Minister Amit Shah, who would also pay tribute to the security personnel in the recent Karreguta encounter. During that operation, security forces were able to neutralise 31 Naxalites, making it one of the biggest anti-Naxal operations in recent history. The felicitation will be held at the place where Amit Shah lives in Delhi.
On the fertiliser subsidy to farmers in Chhattisgarh, CM Sai announced that the state had already been able to achieve a commitment of 60,800 metric tons of urea. He remembered that 50,000 metric tons had been set aside before and that this time, a greater quantity had been granted in order to satisfy the needs of farmers. He repeated that the government has never tried to make sure that we lack essential agricultural supplies. As far as CM Sai said about former Deputy CM T.S. Singhdeo and his recent statements on the defeat of Congress, he said such an issue, which is internal to the opposition, can make the ruling government feel nothing but the opposition.
Finance Minister O.P. Choudhary, at the same time, pointed out the importance of the next meeting of the GST Council on September 3 and 4. He reported that GST 2.0 will be a big change, as promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Red Fort. Choudhary states that under the new GST structure, the economy will gain positively since the GST will increase consumption and contribute to the reduction of inflation, which will eventually relieve the average citizen.
