U.S. Vice President JD Vance has clarified that in 2028, he is not concerned with a presidential bid; he is just supporting the Trump administration and protecting its policies. Vance, in an open-ended interview, looked back at his previous encounter in the Oval Office with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and ruled out that Donald Trump has an enemies list. He even put on a lighter tone when he wished pop star Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce a great holiday, reminding a lighter aspect in the midst of political tensions.

In response to fears of the deployment of the National Guard in places like Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, Vance reasons that the administration does not intend to keep American streets occupied indefinitely. “We simply want to make those streets safer,” he said, “and, preferably, not the federal government acting alone.” He condemned democrats who described Trump as authoritarian because most of them secretly accepted federal aid to restore law and order.

Vance also countered the criticism of the Trump administration’s treatment of the files of Jeffrey Epstein. He disapproved of proposals that the public or non-public disclosure of documents was a political diversion. Rather, he stood by the argument that Trump had been more open on the subject than previous administrations, despite being faced with criticism in his own MAGA base.

In the reaction on the allegations that Trump is attacking political opponents, Vance justified the decisions of the administration as being based on facts and the law. He was sceptical about the fact that the president does not have the power to intervene in issues like the Federal Reserve, by terming it preposterous to imply that elected officials have no say in the making of crucial decisions concerning the economy.

The statements by Vance indicate his dualism as a firm Trump supporter.
