Bhopal: Monsoon has once again picked up speed in Madhya Pradesh. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 25 districts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the rainy season in Madhya Pradesh will continue till August 24. An orange alert has been issued in view of the possibility of very heavy rain in Dhar, Ujjain and Sheopur districts. At the same time, a yellow alert for heavy rain is applicable in Rajgarh, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dewas, and Shajapur.
“The attached Satellite Animation indicates intense to very intense convection with the possibility of moderate to intense spells of rainfall during night time over Uttarakhand, extreme South Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub Himalayan west Bengal, North Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, north Telangana”, wrote IMD on X.
According to weather experts, the reason for rain in the state is two seasonal systems, which are currently active. The monsoon trough line is passing over Madhya Pradesh, due to which there is light rain at some places and heavy rain at other places. Along with this, a cyclonic circulation is also active in northwestern Madhya Pradesh, which is further intensifying the rain. Light drizzle has been continuing in the capital Bhopal since morning. At the same time, rain continues in other parts of the state as well.
Monsoon arrived in the state on June 16. Since then, an average of 33.1 inches of rain has fallen. Till now, 27 inches of rain was supposed to fall. According to this, 6.1 inches more water has fallen. The average normal rainfall of the state is 37 inches. That is, 89 percent of the rain has fallen till now.
