SRINAGAR: The Indian Army on Wednesday successfully thwarted a major infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The operation, however, came at a heavy price, with one Indian soldier making the supreme sacrifice during the exchange of fire, officials said.
Reports said that infiltration bid could have been carried out with the support of Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) with a “strike by terrorists” along the Line of Control (LoC) near Tikka Post in the Uri sector.
