Jabalpur: ATS has started cracking down on Afghan nationals living with fake passports. In this case, ATS has arrested another Afghan national from Kolkata. Before this, on Saturday also, ATS had arrested three people from Jabalpur, including an Afghan national. All the arrested people were presented in the court today after treatment in the district hospital. The two arrested Afghan nationals, Sohbat Khan and Akbar, along with government employees Dinesh Garg, Mahendra Kumar, and Chandan Singh, are also included.
Both Afghan nationals Sohbat Khan and Akbar who were caught by ATS were living in India for two decades. It is being told that Sohbat Khan came to India from Afghanistan around 2015 and then came to Jabalpur via Bhopal and stayed here and prepared fake documents and got his passport made on the basis of fake documents and then on the basis of fake passport he made several trips to Afghanistan.
The second accused Akbar Khan, who was arrested also came and settled in India 20 years ago. The second Afghan national, Akbar, who was arrested, came to India 30 years ago, and then he lived and worked in different parts of the country and While living here, he got his passport made fraudulently for Rs. 1.2 lakh and then on the basis of the same fake passport, he went to Afghanistan.
How the game of fake passports was run
It is being told that till now fake passports of more than 10 Afghan citizens have been made by living in Jabalpur through fake documents. First Sohbat Khan living in Jabalpur came in contact with Dinesh Garg posted in the Forest Department, after which Dinesh Garg introduced him to Mahendra Kumar, a resident of Jabalpur Katanga and after this Mahendra Kumar along with Chandan Singh, a resident of Jabalpur, Rampur, first got Sohbat Khan’s Aadhar card and other documents made and then on the basis of the same documents, a fake passport of Afghan citizen Sohbat Khan was made.
Used to take passport from postman on the way
During interrogation by ATS, it was found that to hide this fraud, the accused Mahendra Kumar Chandan Singh used to stop the postman on the way and take the passport so that there would be no problem when the postman reached the address mentioned for the passport. Therefore, the accused used to stop the postman on the way and then take the passport by giving him Rs. 3000.
