Raipur: Chhattisgarh’s registration offices are moving towards a paperless system, a significant step to streamline the registry process. Soon, individuals will receive a digital copy of their registry via email or WhatsApp.

The registration department has also integrated with DigiLocker, allowing parties to securely store their documents directly within the application. For those without email or WhatsApp, hard copies will still be provided by the registration office. This new system aims to reduce the need for in-person visits, making the process more convenient and efficient for everyone.

Under the new system, e-KYC and Aadhaar verification will ensure the identity of the parties, which will prevent fraud. The possibility of tampering with digital documents will end and the data will always be available online. Land details and location will also be available through the Sugam app, which will reduce time and paperwork.

Before registration, the parties will be able to view the draft of the document on mobile or e-mail and correct the mistakes. If Aadhaar is linked to DG Locker, the parties will be able to download the document by searching CG Inspector General Registrar and entering the registry number.

Registration of documents like will, partition deed, power of attorney will also be smooth. Under the online appointment facility started from July, parties can book slots on the NGDRS website. For this, B-1, Khasra, loan book, map, e-stamp, Aadhaar and PAN card will have to be uploaded. Deputy Inspector General of Registration Usha Sahu has said that soon all the documents will be sent on e-mail, which will make the process more transparent.
