Mumbai: The Mumbai Police Control Room was in a state of panic after receiving threatening calls from three different numbers. The caller claimed that a bomb has been placed at the Mumbai International Airport and a big explosion is going to happen in a short time. The Mumbai Police immediately became alert after this call and a bomb squad team along with police officers reached the airport. Despite the intensive search operation that lasted for hours, no suspicious object was recovered.
According to police officials, an unknown caller had threatened to explode a bomb at Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport. Immediately after this information, senior officers of Mumbai Police and the bomb disposal squad reached the spot and started investigation. All areas of the airport were thoroughly searched, but the police did not find any evidence that could confirm the presence of a bomb.
String of threat calls linked to Assam-Bengal border
Initial investigations have revealed that the threatening calls were made from mobile numbers active near the Assam and West Bengal border. Mumbai’s Azad Maidan police have started an investigation against the unknown caller. Currently, the police are investigating the matter thoroughly to identify the person making the threat and find out his intentions.
