Bhopal: Security in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly has been tightened. After the drug scandal, strict rules have been implemented for the security of the Assembly. In this connection, the Assembly Secretariat has issued new and strict rules for the media.
Now, an identity card along with Vidhan Sabha pass will be mandatory for entry. Entry will not be allowed in Vidhan Sabha without showing documents. Media bytes will be allowed only in front of the committee room. Bytes in front of the House have been completely banned.
Sources reveal that Yasin Ahmed, the accused in the much-talked-about drug case in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh, was roaming around with a Vidhan Sabha pass in his car. He had pasted a pass in the name of a journalist on his car. After this incident, questions were raised on the security of the Vidhan Sabha. The opposition is attacking the government on this matter.
Drug Scandal; What Actually Happened
It was a severe blow to the growing culture of synthetic drugs in Bhopal when two men were arrested on July 18 by the Crime Branch with 15.14 grams of methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MD) powder, commonly referred as party drug. The arrests were made under MP Police campaign, ‘Nashe Se Doori, Hai Zaroori’.
Later on July 25th, Indore police formed a human chain with 7,100 participants to spread awareness against drug abuse under the state-wide campaign ‘Say No To Drugs’.The human chain, extending from Bhanwarkuan to Palasia square, was part of ongoing initiative launched by Madhya Pradesh police to combat rising menace of substance abuse and its harmful consequences. Under the leadership of police commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, a series of awareness activities are being conducted across Indore to engage citizens in the fight against drugs.
