Sukma: Border Roads Organization (BRO) has completed the construction of a Bailey bridge between the Silger-Purvarti road connecting Purvarti. Wondering why bridge construction is of utmost importance?

Development is taking place at a rapid pace in Naxal-affected Bastar of Chhattisgarh. Road construction is underway in many inaccessible areas. The Purvarti village is located in the dreaded Naxal-hit village in Sukma district. Despite heavy security risks and Naxal activities, the bridge was constructed by BRO.

With the construction of the Bailey Bridge on the Silger-Puvarti road, people will no longer face problems in commuting during rainy days. This bridge will connect several villages, including Timmapuram, Tekalguda, Gollakonda, Tumalpad, Jabbagatta and Puvarti, which will directly benefit a population of more than 5000. Now villagers will be able to reach the district headquarters by road without any risk.

There is a lot of enthusiasm among the villagers due to the construction of the Bailey Bridge. For many years, people had to face problems in commuting. Especially during the rainy season, the challenge increased even more. But now this problem has been resolved.

Along with this bridge, work is also going on on a 64 km long road project, for which the central government has sanctioned Rs 66 crore 74 lakh in the year 2024-25. In this, about Rs 53 crore is being spent for the 51.25 km road from Elmaguda to Purvarti alone.
