Special virtual interaction with the senior leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh will be conducted today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, which will be held through video conferencing, the officers will look at the on-the-ground working of some of the large national schemes in the area of public welfare launched under the central government.
They are the Ujjwala Yojana, the Ayushman Bharat, the PM Awas Yojana, the Swachh Bharat Mission, the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the AMRUT Mission launched by the BJP. It is hoped that the discussion will be about reinforcing the channels of delivery of these schemes and eliciting opinions of the state leadership.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai is inaugurating the Aspire Pharmaceutical unit in Sector 5, Nava Raipur, on the same day. The official schedule makes it clear that the Chief Minister will arrive at the venue at around 2:00 PM and attend the opening ceremony until 3:10 PM. He is supposed to be back at the CM residence at 4:00 PM. Speaker Dr. Raman Singh will be presiding over the event. Interestingly, it is expected that this new pharmaceutical unit will provide both direct and indirect employment opportunities for more than 100 local youths.
In the meantime, tensions are growing politically in the state, where the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the son of the former chief minister of the state, Bhupesh Baghel- Chaitanya Baghel. To this reaction, the Congress party has declared an ED state-wide protest today.
There will be demonstrations and burning of effigies at all the district headquarters, to be attended by MPs, MLAs, councillors, the party office-bearers, and a lot of workers. The press conference will also be staged at Rajiv Bhavan in Raipur, where the senior Congress leaders Bhupesh Baghel, Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant, and PCC Chief Deepak Baij will tour the media cabin.
Independently, the special lecture on the preservation of temples and monasteries will be arranged at 4:00 PM.
