A major breakthrough was made by the security forces in the Sukma district of Chhattisgarh with the arrest of a hardcore Naxalite, Rama Bodke. It happened after a combined search by Jagargunda Police with the 150th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Rama Bodke was a Vegan and an active member of the Pamed area committee, a known Naxalite stronghold.

As per the stated reports, Bodke had several libelous crimes, one of them being the brutal murder of a village member in the Purvarti region. He is also alleged to have threatened and beaten members of the victim’s family so that they would stop talking. Such conflicts of violence had made the local community afraid, and therefore, peace and security in the area had been harmed.

An FIR, in relation to the Chhattisgarh Anti-Naxal Act, has also been registered against him at the Jagargunda Police Station. His arrest is a good move towards the continuation of its activities of the destruction of the Naxal network in the region. Police officials have verified that Bodke is under intense questioning, and it can be anticipated that more incriminating details about Naxal activities and bases can be revealed through questioning.

The arrest forms part of a bigger crackdown on Naxalite cadres in the region. Till now, the police have arrested six Naxalites in the same case. In the meantime, search processes have been ongoing to identify and arrest the other people accused of committing the crime.

Such a successful undertaking of this combined operation symbolizes the mounting success of coordinated activities between the state police and central forces to contain left-wing extremism in Chhattisgarh. Security organs are determined to keep things safe and restore order in Naxal-dominated localities.
