Raipur: The Raipur Municipal Corporation will launch a new e-notice, e-challan system to survive the stiff competition with high efficiency, transparency, and convenience in administrative procedures. Various civic operations such as construction approvals, development works as well as sanitation monitoring will be done using such digital documents. Municipal Commissioner Vishwadeep has issued an order that all the notices and challans regarding the civic affairs should be issued digitally to make the affairs fast and smooth.

As the part of the initiative, the Town Planning Department at the Municipal Headquarters has been directed to ensure that the entire process i.e. approving the building map as well as granting the final permissions is done, in toto, online. The step will allow real-time monitoring and e-review of construction processes by local engineers and architects. The system would be instrumental in enhancing the checking system and eliminating unauthorized construction hence delivering the project at the right time.

The Commissioner also impressed upon the strict nature of monitoring the development works, which are being carried out in the area including those that are funded by the Infrastructure fund, MLA Fund and other miscellaneous sources. He taught leaders to make such projects to be done within specified time and of good standards.

The civic cleanliness has been looked into and the Commissioner has mandated that the toilets, ponds, roads and market places be visited each and every day. Zonal Commissioners and Health Officers have been cautioned against use of severe disciplinary measures should there be failure of upholding cleanliness standards. He indicated that there should be no litter or muck that is seen in key public places.

Also, the store owners who will put products in the street on the highway will be punished. Such violations have been ordered to be recorded on camera by the Commissioner after which e-challans are issued.

This was part of a review meeting held in Mahatma Gandhi Sadan whereby many senior officials were present such as Additional Commissioners and Zonal Commissioners, Executive Engineers and Health Officers. They were directed by the Commissioner to come out with flood-prone areas and to be on toes in trying to avoid waterlogging in the midst of the monsoon.
