Raipur: Chhattisgarh Police is continuously working with sensitivity towards the safety of women and children. Operation Muskaan is being run in the state to search for missing persons, especially missing children, which has shown good results. Under Operation Talaash campaign, Chhattisgarh Police has recovered about four and a half thousand missing people safely in a month.
In view of the success of Operation Muskaan, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam has directed to run a special campaign in the form of Operation Talaash for the search of missing women and men, which is the first campaign of the state in the direction of searching for missing adult persons. “Operation Talaash” was run from June 1, 2025 to June 30, 2025 under the guidance of Inspector General of Police Ajay Yadav.
For the success of this campaign, many guidelines were given by the police headquarters including appointment of a nodal officer, formation of a team, better use of communication means. During this, the families of each missing person were contacted by visiting their homes. After reviewing each case, a strategy was made and the team was sent to such a possible place where there was a possibility of finding the missing person.
Under Operation Talaash, 4472 missing persons, including 3207 women and 1265 men, have been recovered by sending police teams not only within the state but also across India. During the campaign, 252 women and men were safely recovered from Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Puducherry and Assam and were sent back home legally.
Bilaspur, Durg, Mahasamund, Raipur police did remarkable work
In this campaign, Bilaspur and Durg police have taken the best action and have succeeded in recovering 1056 and 807 men and women. Mahasamund and Raipur police have also done remarkable work and have succeeded in recovering 267 and 217 missing persons respectively.
