Mohali: Punjab’s Mohali District Court has extended the police remand of senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former minister Bikram Singh Majithia for 4 more days after hearing the disproportionate assets case against him. Majithia was produced in the court on Wednesday, July 2, where this decision was taken. The Vigilance Bureau argued in the court that Majithia is not cooperating in the investigation. The bureau says that it is necessary to take Majithia to other states and places outside Punjab to investigate the case in depth.

The public prosecutor told the court that during the 7-day remand some important facts have come to light, including the case of benami property in Shimla. Majithia was taken to Shimla to investigate this property, but he did not cooperate there either. Documents related to property of about 400 hectares in Shimla were also presented in the court.

The Vigilance Bureau had registered an FIR against Bikram Singh Majithia on June 25, 2025 in a disproportionate assets case. After this, raids were conducted at 26 places in Punjab including his residence in Amritsar and Chandigarh. During the raid, Majithia was arrested from his Amritsar residence. During this, 29 mobile phones, 5 laptops, 3 iPads, 2 desktops, 8 diaries and other documents were recovered.
