An outright instance of armed robbery has come into the national limelight where the residence of a woman sarpanch in Morena district of Madhya Pradesh was the target of a group of armed robbers. The armed robbers raided the house of sarpanch of Alapur Panchayat in Joura, Manju Yadav and plundered valuables of crores of rupees.
It is a night event that happens between Tuesday and Wednesday. Police sources said that the robbers’ gang came in a four-wheeler and broke into the house. Using guns, they took the whole family as hostages and compelled Sarpanch Manju Yadav and husband to sit in a corner and watch them ransack the house.
More than 40 tolas of gold, approximately 1 crore INR cash, and two legal rifles were robbed from the site by the robbers. Upon the robbers ‘ escape, Manju Yadav alerted others, and neighbours rushed to the house. Police were called in at once, and a team arrived with a sniffer dog to commence the investigation.
The robbery in the full view of the sun has set panic and fear in the locality as the locals are expressing concerns about the increase in crime and audacity of the goons in robbing people in broad daylight, especially people in government positions. The police have filed an FIR and are on a manhunt for suspects. There is already a search happening, and there are teams that have been sent out to pursue the culprits. The government has promised people that the offender will be dealt with very soon, and security will be enhanced in the region to avert these incidents.
