Amarnath Yatra: With fervent chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ and ‘Har Har Mahadev’ echoing through the air, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today flagged off the inaugural batch of Amarnath pilgrims from the Yatri Niwas base camp in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. This auspicious moment marks the beginning of the annual Amarnathji pilgrimage, set to officially commence on July 3.
Nearly half a million devotees are poised to embark on this spiritually profound, yet physically demanding journey to the holy cave, nestled at an altitude of nearly 13,000 feet amidst challenging climate and terrain. The people of Jammu and Kashmir, deeply affected by the recent April 22 Pahalgam massacre – a deplorable act attributed to Pakistan’s nefarious designs to disrupt peace and communal harmony – are eager to extend a warm and heartfelt welcome to the pilgrims, showcasing the region’s enduring spirit of hospitality.
