Varanasi: Protests have started against the action of measuring and marking red by PWD for road widening in Dalmandi area. PWD had marked 190 houses and 6 mosques in red, due to which these have come under the purview of demolition (BULLDOZER ACTION IN VARANASI). Regarding this, Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee Secretary Mohammad Yasin has expressed strong opposition by sending a letter to the District Magistrate and PWD. It is said that the measurement has been done without informing. Anjuman Intezamia Masjid Committee Secretary Mohammad Yasin has sent a letter to the DM. Mohammad Yasin is very angry about the Dalmandi widening. It is said that he has written a letter to the officials.

“We are responsible for one of the 6 old mosques on this route, Langde Hafiz. Why was the measurement done there without informing us? There will be no compromise with the mosque under any circumstances. This is not development, it is destruction (BULLDOZER ACTION IN VARANASI). People who have settled there are being displaced, which is wrong”, said Yasin as he addressed the media. Yasin said that a stay has been obtained from the court regarding another mosque in Dal Mandi. He further expressed his wish to go to the High Court and the Supreme Court regarding this matter. Other options can be adopted to go to the temple, why is only Dal Mandi being targeted.

Mohammad Yasin says that in the letter we have sent, we have clearly asked what is the proof that the part of the mosque has been declared illegal. Being a mosque committee, information should have been given first and then the measurement should have been done there. Mohammad Yasin says that such things should not happen during festivals. The festivals of Moharram and Sawan are near. There is excitement among the people after this action. I am sure that the government also does not want any ruckus or disturbance at such a time.
