Narayanpur: Another big success in the current campaign against the Naxals was secured by security forces at Bastar. Two women Naxals were eliminated in an intense skirmish that happened in the deep forests of Abujhmad. The operation, which is going on, is in joint operation with the personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) units of Narayanpur and Kondagaon and the Special Task Force (STF).
The fight took place within the boundaries of the Kohkameta police station in the Narayanpur district, which is the area of active Naxal presence. The security forces had certain inputs about security when it came to the presence of Maoist cadres of the Maad Division, which is a very well-known hotbed of the presence of the Naxalites. The same happened as the advancement of forces came under fire, which led to a gun battle, which resulted in the killing of the two women Maoists.
Security forces at the scene of the encounter retrieved an INSAS rifle and a huge quantity of Naxal-related material, which includes ammunition, sermons, and survival paraphernalia. Such recoveries encompass the possibility of the Maoists engaging in a bigger activity in the region.
This current combing operation is associated with an extended effort by the Chhattisgarh police and other central security forces to root out the leftover Maoist elements at their jungle hideouts deep in the Bastar region. The law enforcers have reported to have increased reinforcements and will go ahead with the search operation until the area is brought under control.
The new victory is one more on the list of the accomplishments of the security services in their renewed battle with Left-Wing Extremism in the state. Security agencies have persisted in declaring their effort in restoring a peaceful environment and safeguarding the domestic population in the area, particularly those in distant and insurgency-affected forest belts.
