Talking about Jyoti Malhotra, she is a well-known social media influencer and asked the local court for regular bail through her channel “Travel with JO”. YouTuber, 33, arrested last month due to allegations of espionage, is taking part in a complicated legal process that people are paying attention to. Her lawyer, Kumar Mukesh, asked a Judicial Magistrate, Sunil Kumar, for bail on Tuesday. After the court requested a reply from the police, the case has moved into its next stage.

Hisar Police officer took Jyoti Malhotra into custody and started legal action against her on May 16. Those who filed the charges based on the Act and the Manual were under suspicion of espionage. At first, the court gave the police five days to carry out an interrogation. Once the first period was done, she stayed in court custody for four more days to be interrogated further. Therefore, on May 26, the court sent her to judicial custody for a period of 14 days.

Lately, the court extended Malhotra’s custodial period, and the next hearing has been set for June 23. At this time, Malhotra took part in the hearing from outside the court using a video connection. Due to Malhotra’s public success and very serious charges, the case has received serious interest.

It has been stated by the Hisar Police that there is no proof Malhotra held military secrets, but she communicated with Pakistani Intelligence Operatives. It was disclosed by the police that she had talked to Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, working at the Pakistani High Commission, beginning in November 2023. While the trial goes on, the actions of the court and what is revealed through evidence will affect the case’s outcome.
