New Delhi: Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced on Wednesday that the much-anticipated Monsoon Session of Parliament will be held from July 21st to August 12th, 2025. This crucial session is expected to be politically charged, with the government likely to push for key legislative agenda items and the opposition gearing up to raise critical issues.

The dates for the session were recommended by the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs, chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. This will be the first full session of Parliament following “Operation Sindoor,” India’s recent counter-terror operation involving missile strikes across the border.

The announcement comes amidst a strong demand from various opposition parties for a special session to discuss “Operation Sindoor” and its ramifications. While Minister Rijiju indicated that all issues can be discussed during the regular Monsoon Session, the opposition is likely to press hard for detailed explanations and accountability regarding the operation and its impact on regional security.

Beyond “Operation Sindoor,” the session is anticipated to witness intense debates on a range of domestic issues, including the economic situation, rising inflation, and potentially new legislative proposals. The government is expected to table several bills for consideration and passage, while the opposition will likely challenge its policies and performance on various fronts.

With both Houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, set to convene, the Monsoon Session promises to be a dynamic period of legislative activity and political discourse. The three-week duration will provide ample opportunity for robust discussions and a thorough examination of government policies and pressing national concerns.
