On the occasion of World Environment Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will plant a sapling in Delhi’s Mahavir Jayanti Park on June 5 under the Aravali Hill Wall and Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign. Sources in the Ministry of Environment and Forests said that under the campaign, the Aravali hills spread across four states will be afforestation and made green.
Let us tell you that in the year 2024, Prime Minister Modi had started the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign on the occasion of World Environment Day, which was very successful. Under this campaign, 109 crore trees have been planted across the country so far. Now it has been decided to extend this campaign in 2025 as well.
On the relationship between mother and environment, PM Modi said that this year a special campaign has been started on World Environment Day. The name of this campaign is – ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. I have also planted a tree in the name of my mother.
Apart from the Prime Minister, Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta will also be present on this occasion. Sources said that on this occasion a new campaign Aravali Green Wall will be launched to make the Aravali hills green. The Aravali hills are spread across 29 districts of four states Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. A south-western district of Delhi is adjacent to it. While 18 districts of Rajasthan, three of Gujarat and seven districts of Haryana are included in it.
