Dedication ceremonies at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple’s second phase will begin in Ayodhya on June 4. On Monday, a procession was celebrated, which symbolically kicked off from the banks of the holy Saryu River, heralding the start of the holy rituals.

More safety has been put in place in Ayodhya before the event. The temple complex has been put in a red zone, and security guards are watching over it every day in three shifts. Officers from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and armoured vehicles are patrolling the area around the temple to maintain safety.

During the next steps, idols will be consecrated inside the Ram Darbar on the temple’s top floor and also at six other shrines inside the precinct. The peak of the festival will fall on June 5, which coincides with the special occasion of Ganga Dussehra.

On those days, the rituals will consist of making offerings to flames, chanting thousands of mantras and reciting Ram Raksha Stotra and Hanuman Chalisa, all done between 6:30 in the morning and 6:30 in the evening. During the last day, the idols of Ram, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman will be formally installed.

On this day, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, will attend some big events: the Saryu Trayodashi Utsav, the birthday of Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das and celebrations for World Environment Day.

Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust secretary, Champat Rai, further stated that devotees should not make the trip to Ayodhya at this time because there has been no public invitation for the function. The temple is indeed open, but the first-floor Ram Darbar, where many pujas are held, is being built at present and is off-limits.
