Raipur: Preparations have started in Chhattisgarh to deal with COVID-19, given the increasing cases of coronavirus in the country. More than 14 thousand people died in Chhattisgarh in the three waves of the coronavirus. Now again in view of the increasing cases in the country, a meeting was held today at Mekahara Hospital regarding pre-corona preparations, in which other topics, including treatment of patients, medicines, beds, oxygen, PP kits and sample testing facilities were discussed. It was decided to start the Corona OPD in Mekahara from tomorrow. A team of specialist doctors has been formed for this.

Dr Vivek Chaudhary, Dean of Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital, while talking to Lalluram.com, said that the heads of all the departments were called in the meeting. From tomorrow, suspected coronavirus patients will be treated separately. In view of the increasing coronavirus cases in the country, the arrangements made at the time of corona in Raipur are being revamped. The Corona ward will be made if the number of patients increases. Dr. Chaudhary said that from tomorrow, a separate corona OPD will be operated in Mekahara. Specialist doctors will be deployed for this. Lab technicians will also be there. There will also be arrangements for labor ward, ICU, and ventilator.

Dr. Chaudhary said, arrangements for medicines for the treatment of corona have been ensured. Also, kits are available for the safety of doctors during treatment. Patients will be treated as per the previously issued treatment protocol.

Why is a separate OPD necessary?

Dr. Chaudhary said that a corona patient can spread the infection. Corona is a contagious disease. Thousands of patients suffering from various diseases come to Mekahara for treatment. In such a situation, there is a risk of spreading the infection, so a separate OPD will be operated.

Caution is safety

Doctors present in the meeting said that even though vaccines are being administered to avoid corona, medicines are prescribed for the treatment of corona, but caution is necessary to prevent corona. Follow social distancing. Avoid going into crowds. Stay away from infected persons, wear a mask.

There is not a single corona patient in Chhattisgarh right now

According to the State Control and Command Center, there is not a single corona patient in Chhattisgarh right now, but seeing the way the number of corona patients is increasing in the country and abroad, separate treatment arrangements are being made as a precaution. People here are traveling to other states. In such a situation, the possibility of spreading the infection increases. At present, the state borders are open due to the corona protocol not being issued. No investigation is being done at interstate and international airports.
