A group of Indian members of the JD(U) party, led by JD(U) MP Sanjay Jha, left for Japan on Wednesday to highlight how Pakistan has allegedly directed terrorist activities. The Indian delegation aims to tell the world what they think about cross-border terrorism, especially in relation to the lethal Pahalgam attack earlier this month, which led to a military reaction and Operation Sindoor, and the signing of a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan on May 10.
Sanjay Jha has been joined by BJP MPs Aparajita Sarangi, Brijlal, Pradhan Barua, and Hemang Joshi, along with senior Congress leader Salman Khurshid, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, CPI(M)’s John Brittas, and former Indian ambassador Mohan Kumar. On their schedule are stops in South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore, where the ministers will confer with their counterparts to bolster India’s stance on terrorism.
Before the visit, Sanjay Jha pointed out the reason for the mission: terrorism, he said, is actively encouraged by Pakistan as a state policy. “We must present the actual state of Pakistan and its substantial role in supporting and continuing terrorism.”
John Brittas, a CPI(M) MP, stressed that it is important for nations to work together against terrorism. “We hope to give a clear message to the world through this public diplomatic effort. Countries should unite with India and realize that terrorism supported by states is a serious worldwide danger,” according to Singh.
Operation Sindoor is unique because members of both the ruling and opposition parties came together to send a united message on terrorism on the global scene.
