Navankur Chaudhary aka Yatri Doctor, a doctor-turned-YouTuber, has refuted allegations of being a spy for Pakistan. In a video shared on Instagram last night, he said that a fake narrative is being spread against him.

Chaudhary has become the target of a social media trial after the arrest of his friend, Jyoti Malhotra. Malhotra has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan and sharing sensitive Indian military information with Pakistan.

Two days after the arrest of Hisar-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra on charges of espionage, Hisar superintendent of police (SP) Shashank Kumar Sawan on Sunday said that Pakistani intelligence operatives (PIOs) were grooming her to become an asset.

In another arrest, Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested a man in Moradabad for allegedly spying for Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence. The accused is a resident of Tanda in UP’s Rampur district. The man, identified as Shahzad, was arrested after there were reports of him being involved in cross-border smuggling and spying as an agent for ISI.

Shahzad had allegedly been passing sensitive information related to national security to his handlers in Pakistan, said the Special Task Force. He had travelled to Pakistan on several occasions.

He was also allegedly involved in the smuggling of items such as cosmetics, clothes, spices, and others across the border, the report added.

Apart from passing on intelligence to ISI, Shahzad was also involved in running the operations for Pakistan’s intelligence agency in India.
