The Indian Army released new footage of Operation Sindoor, asserting that the military action was a pursuit of justice, not an act of revenge, following the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 civilian lives.

The video, posted on the Army’s Western Command X account, depicted military firing and shelling into Pakistani territory during the strikes conducted on May 7 and subsequently. In the video, a soldier stated that Operation Sindoor was initiated after the Pahalgam attack, emphasizing it as “not anger but a resolve to teach a lesson that will be remembered in the future,” and characterizing it as “justice, not revenge.”

Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of India and Pakistan was scheduled for Sunday, adding that the ceasefire between the two countries continues. A defence ministry statement said, “Some media houses are reporting that the Ceasefire between India and Pakistan is ending today. In addition, queries are also being received if a DGMO-level talk is scheduled today? The response is as under:- No DGMO talks are scheduled today. As far as continuation of a break in hostilities, as decided in DGMOs interaction of 12 May is concerned, there is no expiry date to it.”

Menawhile, the IMF has set forth 11 new prerequisites for Pakistan to receive its next bailout installment, a media report revealed. These conditions include parliamentary approval of a substantial Rs 17.6 trillion budget, an increased debt servicing surcharge on electricity bills, and the removal of restrictions on importing used cars older than three years.

Furthermore, the IMF cautioned that escalating tensions between Pakistan and India pose a significant threat to the bailout programme’s fiscal stability, external balances, and reform objectives. This warning underscores the delicate geopolitical context surrounding Pakistan’s economic recovery efforts and the potential for regional instability to derail the IMF-supported initiatives. The implementation of these stringent conditions and the management of external risks will be crucial for the programme’s success.
