Kharora: After the unfortunate road mishap in Kharora, Chhattisgarh, the administration has come into an alert mode, which has taken a severe step against the two-wheelers and four-wheelers illegally carrying passengers. After the shocking road disaster near Kharora, the authorities have embarked upon a drive against the use of vehicles privately made for commercial use without proper sanction.

Under this campaign that has been going on, the Transport Department has acted at the Dhanwar check post of Balrampur district. Officials stopped an illegal passenger transport in the Girvani route bordering Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on the Girvani route. Complaints were received repeatedly arising from private vehicles being used for unapproved passenger transport, mainly at the border areas, according to the department. Upon receiving such reports, transport officers organised a team to monitor and take action against such violators.

The officials confirmed, this operation would be continued all through the day to track and secure vehicles doing illegal passenger service. One of these vehicles was already seized and consigned to the Raghunathnagar police station so as to facilitate the further legal process.

The Transport Department has made it very clear that these are the measures that are aimed at preventing future calamities such as the one in Kharora. Authorities had heeded to emphasized that strong surveillance and enforcement will be adhered to in vulnerable areas, particularly on entry and exit points at the state borders.
