It is said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have a high-level meeting with the chief ministers and deputy chief ministers in the states ruled by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on 25 May 2025 in New Delhi. The meeting is occurring after India’s Operation Sindoor, which was carried out against the terrorist camps in Pakistan and the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

After sources privy to the development, the leaders from some of the NDA states, particularly the poll-bound state of Bihar, have been called to the national capital for a detailed briefing. The major agenda of the meeting will be to discuss strategic objectives, results, and implications of the Operation Sindoor after it was executed following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, on April 22.

One official said that the Prime Minister Modi will give an overall picture of the operation and discuss the ceasefire announcement issued Saturday, as well as the larger role it played with regards to regional security and political stability. The incoming meeting is also likely to create a united front among the NDA leaders inasmuch as the Centre strengthens its national security strategy.

After an address to the country by the Prime Minister late on Saturday night, there has been an outpouring of support from fellow NDA allies. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) head Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the PM’s words and proclaimed it to be a landmark time for India’s new strategic doctrine.

This meeting highlights the government’s focus on keeping the alliance transparent and united in times of valuable national security developments. It also provides a forum for harmonizing the Centre and states on matters related to do with counter-terrorism actions, internal security, and policy alignment to be taken in the future. More announcements are to be expected after the meeting of May 25th.
