The Indian Navy operates with greater intensity in the Arabian Sea by performing numerous exercises inside its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) to boost maritime security while tensions rise across the region. Western seaboard security measures rose after 26 people lost their lives in the April 22 terrorist attack, which occurred in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
Defense sources confirm that Indian warships operate under high alert status after conducting multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile exercises to maintain combat readiness and warn potential threatening forces. This strategy incorporates multiple exercises to maintain safety over crucial maritime interests for India. The Indian Coast Guard enhances maritime surveillance by stationing ships forward near the Gujarat coast, the international maritime boundary area. The venture runs jointly with the Indian Navy to preserve continuous vigilance across the area.
Indian Navy warships successfully executed several anti-ship missile firings throughout the Arabian Sea on a Sunday. Through their X social media update, the Navy spokesperson explained that the drills functioned to verify and demonstrate both platform and system operational readiness of personnel for executing precise offensive strike capabilities. According to the official naval post, the Indian Navy remains combat-ready for national maritime interest defense from any location at any moment using any available means.
The Navy achieved another milestone with its indigenous ship, INS Surat, as it carried out successful testing of the Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missile (MR-SAM) system. This exact targeting and engagement of targets approaching the water surface represented a crucial step forward for India’s defense capabilities. This test acquires increased importance because it took place immediately before the Pakistan Navy was planning to perform surface-to-surface missile tests in the same location.
