Following the Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in the deaths of many tourists among 26 victims the authorities closed 50 Jammu and Kashmir tourist locations as a protective measure. On-site closures have taken effect even though the government has not issued any official order announcing them. Multiple security experts claim public safety measures led officials to regulate entry into touristic hotspots because visitors became increasingly uneasy about their well-being.
A news agency obtained confidential information indicating 48 out of 87 public parks and gardens situated in this region have had their gates secured. The increased perception of such sites as easy targets led authorities and visitors to adopt the measures.
Visitors can no longer access Dooshpathri or Kokernag combined with Duksum and all the other places listed including Sinthan Top Acchabal Bangus Valley Margan Top and Tosamaidan. Tourists no longer have access to multiple Mughal Gardens located throughout south Kashmir despite being known for their great visitor appeal.
These tragic events resulted from gunmen who attacked Baisaran meadows near Pahalgam resort which left 26 people dead in what became one of the most devastating attacks against civilians over recent years. Security deployments intensified while tourism safety protocols received critical evaluation across the valley because of the attack.
The temporary security precautions are established to evaluate protective measures and increase tourist confidence according to government statements. The vital element of tourism for Kashmir’s economy and public perception now faces a tough balancing test between security safety and tourist attraction maintenance by authorities.
