New Delhi. A meeting has been scheduled to discuss India’s response to the Pahalgam attack. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh arrived at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence at 11 am. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Anil Chauhan will also be a part of this meeting. This meeting comes a day after Singh discussed the key decisions taken by the army to counter Pakistan after the horrific terror attack in Pahalgam.

Meanwhile, rapid increase in the water levels of the Jhelum river has caused turmoil in some areas of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), media has reported. Local officials reportedly said that water was released from the Uri Dam without advance notice on Saturday. According to various media reports, this unexpected release resulted in a water crisis in the Hattian Bala district of PoK, forcing residents living along the riverbanks to evacuate to safer areas.
This incident has heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbouring nations, with Pakistani officials denouncing the action as a breach of international standards and the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT).
