During his visit to Madhubani in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation and also inaugurated a wide range of transformative development projects worth more than 13,480 crore rupees. The projects span across various sectors, namely, energy, railways and the public infrastructure to enable overall development and connectivity of the state.
This was the period of celebration of the National Panchayati Raj Day during which PM Modi also took part in a special programme to recognise the importance of village councils in grassroots governance. He celebrated the panchayats that have excelled in community development and service delivery as part of the event and presented national awards to them.
The foundation stone of state of the art LPG bottling plant in Hathua of Gopalganj district was laid by the Prime Minister. The facility will have a rail unloading unit that will help reduce the investment cost up to ₹340 crore and improve LPG supply and distribution logistics across the region.
Under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme, which the PM has launched in the energy sector, new power initiatives worth ₹1,170 crore have been launched. He also inaugurated power infrastructure projects worth ₹5,030 crore for the urban as well as the rural areas to enhance the electricity distribution and the reliability of supply.
Several new train services were flagged off in the rail infrastructure. Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai and Namo Bharat Rail between Jaynagar and Patna were part of them. It also introduced other services such as Pipra–Saharsa and Saharsa–Samastipur trains for the enhancement of connectivity in the region.
With a view of further strengthening the transport network, PM Modi also inaugurated the new rail lines between Supaul–Pipra and Hasanpur–Bithan and the Khagaria–Alauli section, and the rail overbridges in two lanes on Chapra and Bagaha. The initiatives are meant to smooth travel, advance trade and help in hastening economic growth in Bihar.
