IPL 2025: Cheerleader vs Umpire: Who Earns More Per IPL Match?

IPL is a hugely popular cricket league in India. It is a combination of cricket and a source of entertainment for millions nationwide.

When it comes to earning big packages, cheerleaders and umpires aren’t far behind the cricketers.

How much does a cheerleader earn per match? And how much does an umpire make?  Let’s find out.

In a single IPL season, a cheerleader can earn up to 2-4 lakhs rupees.

Each team plays up to 14 matches in the group stage, and for one match, they get 12–25 thousand rupees.

The IPL tournament 2025 features 10 teams competing in 74 matches from 22 March to 25 May. Each team hires some cheerleaders, who travel with the team.

Mumbai Indians’ cheerleader earns 20 thousand rupees per match, which means a MI cheerleader  earns at least 2.8 lakhs per season.

An umpire’s salary is much higher than a cheerleader’s when compared.

It is the umpire who ensures the game's integrity. Umpire earns a fee for each match based on their experience and the prestige of the match.

For a league match an umpire’s salary is 3.4 lakhs per match.

For playoffs, the umpire’s salary increases to 5 lakhs, and for the finals, the salary goes up to 7 lakh rupees per match.
