Despite his injuries, Saif Ali Khan searched the house for the attacker, but the intruder had already fled. Kareena said she insisted they abandon the search and head to the hospital. “I told Saif, ‘Leave all this, let’s go down first, let’s go to the hospital,'” she told investigators.
According to the charge sheet, Kareena Kapoor Khan played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of her family during the traumatic incident.

The detailed police report states that Kareena quickly gathered their two sons—Taimur and Jehangir—and house staff, taking them to the lower floors via the elevator after realizing the attacker was still inside the house. According to Kareena’s statement, the family had retired for the night when the attack occurred. The three-level apartment, where they have lived since 2021, includes bedrooms on the 11th floor, living areas on the 12th, and staff quarters and a library on the 13th. Household staff, including caretakers and a nurse, were also present that night.
The actor recounted that she had returned home from work at around 1:20 a.m., checked on her children Taimur and Jeh, and then went to sleep. Around 2:00 a.m., she was jolted awake when Junu Sapkota, one of the caretakers, burst into their room screaming that a man with a knife had entered their younger son Jeh’s bedroom and was demanding money.
