Bhopal: With a change in the weather pattern, a good number of people in Madhya Pradesh are set to get relief from the scorching heat in the next four days as rain, thunderstorms, hail, and strong winds are expected to lash many parts of the state. IMD said that thunder and lightning along with rains, may occur in six divisions across the country.

Friday rains were metered in Gwalior and other cities, and there was a noticeable decline in daytime temperatures. The weather department today has forecast rain in Bhopal and Narmadapuram districts as well as districts under Jabalpur, Sagar, Gwalior, Chambal and Shahdol divisions. In addition, winds of 50 to 60 km/hr are expected in these regions.

Multiple active systems, such as a western disturbance, two cyclonic circulations, and two troughs, have been attributed to this shift in weather. Combined, these systems have all but ruled out heat waves in the state until at least April 15. Therefore, further falls in daytime and nighttime temperatures can be expected.

Bhopal saw overcast skies since morning and Gwalior also had light showers. When is is not that cold, some cities have temperatures that are down to just under 40. Bhopal and Indore 39.6°C (103.3℉), 39.7°C (103.5℉) in Gwalior, 39.2°C (102.6℉) in Ujjain and 40.8°C (105.4℉) in Jabalpur were some of the other cities that had their temperature records broken. But Guna remained the hottest city in the state at 40.7°C.

The region is still being affected by weather disturbances, and therefore, residents can expect cloudy skies, rain from time to time and cooler temperatures in the days that follow.
