INDIA-UAE Relation: Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum arrived in India on Tuesday on a two-day visit. PM Narendra Modi met the Crown Prince of Dubai in New Delhi. During this, many agreements were signed in the presence of both the leaders to give new dimensions to the India-UAE relationship.

“Glad to meet HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. Dubai has played a key role in advancing the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This special visit reaffirms our deep-rooted friendship and paves the way for even stronger collaboration in the future”, wrote on Narendra Modi on X.

Describing this meeting as a symbol of the deep friendship between the two countries, PM Modi said that this visit will open the way for even stronger cooperation in the future. Sheikh Hamdan said after talks with PM Modi that this meeting confirms the strong relations between India and UAE. He said that both countries are moving forward with trust, shared history and dreams of a prosperous future.

India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have signed several key agreements to strengthen bilateral economic partnership. The agreements were signed during the visit of Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to India.

The establishment of IIM Ahmedabad and IIFT campuses in Dubai will further strengthen educational cooperation between the two countries. This will help Dubai and the UAE emerge as a major global educational hub. The first Middle East campus of IIT was opened in Abu Dhabi last year. These initiatives will benefit the 4.3 million Indian community in the UAE and the nearly 9 million Indians in the Gulf region.

In addition, allotment of land in Dubai for setting up the India-UAE Friendship Hospital, development of ship repair clusters in Kochi and Vadinar and commencement of construction of Bharat Mart have been announced. Under these agreements, an Indian office will also be opened in the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, which will work to strengthen business relations further.

Announcement of Bharat Mart and Virtual Trade Corridor (VTC)

Bharat Mart and Virtual Trade Corridor (VTC) have been announced to strengthen trade ties between India and UAE further. Measures taken to support VTC and Maitri Interface will further boost bilateral trade. Trade between the two countries has grown manifold since the CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) came into force. Through these initiatives, bilateral trade is expected to cross $97 billion and the target of non-oil trade can reach $100 billion.
