A fourth installment in the hit superhero film franchise Krrish is in the works, and Hrithik Roshan will make his directorial debut with it. The superhero films, which are spin-offs of the hit 2003 film Koi…Mil Gaya, were previously directed by his dad, Rakesh Roshan.
Krrish 4 to be directed by Hrithik Roshan
Krrish 4 will be directed by Hrithik and produced by Rakesh and Aditya Chopra. Rakesh posted a picture with his son on Instagram, writing, “Duggu 25yrs back I launched you as an actor, and today again after 25 years you are being launched as a director by two filmmakers Aditya Chopra & myself to take forward our most ambitious film #Krrish4. Wish you all success in this new avatar with good wishes and blessings!” Hrithik’s girlfriend, actor Saba Azad, commented under the post with heart emojis.
Meanwhile, Krrish (2006) is a superhero film where Krishna Mehra, who inherits special abilities from his father Rohit, becomes the superhero Krrish and battles the evil scientist Dr. Arya, who wants to use Rohit’s powers for his own gain. The second and third instalments have equally gained love and praise from fans and critics.
Confirming the development to Pinkvilla, Rakesh Roshan says, “I am passing the baton of the director of Krrish 4 to my son, Hrithik Roshan, who has lived, breathed, and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me. Hrithik has a clear and very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience for the next decades. I couldn’t be more proud to see him wear the director’s hat for a film that means the world to us as a family. Krrish has entertained audiences the world over, and Hrithik will now reveal the next chapters of this superhero saga and take the vision I created so many years ago to greater heights.”
