India Meteorological Department (IMD) also warned of a heatwave in northern interior parts of Karnataka and warned for three more days, up until March 20. Tempers have already soared to uncomfortable levels in the region as summer is at its peak. The IMD’s local station recorded a maximum temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius in Kalaburagi on Tuesday, starting as early as 10 a.m. The place had the sweltering most extreme temperature of 42.8 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

During this period, IMD forecasts warn the residents of the northern interior districts of Karnataka that they need to stay alert for heat-related illnesses. But in some places, including Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar, light to moderate rain lashed some southwestern districts, providing some localized respite from the heat.

On the other side, Andhra Pradesh is also prepared for extreme heat. Of these 58 manuals, 4 manuals were issued a heatwave alert on March 19 by the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) in Andhra Pradesh. The highest temperature in the state was mentioned on Tuesday when Pedda Devalapuram village of Nandyala district and Ulindakonda village in Kurnool district alike recorded 42.7 and 42.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.

On the other hand, Odisha may also obtain some relief from the heat. In the coming days, the IMD has forecast rainfall in several parts of the state, which will bring down temperatures and provide relief to the people who have been enduring intense heat.

As showers are likely to run the soaring temperatures down in Odisha, people in heatwave-affected areas have been advised to take necessary precautions, such as staying hydrated avoid staying in the sun for prolonged periods. People can also monitor weather forecasts in advance and plan their activities accordingly.
