Mauganj: Three days after the violent incident in Mauganj, Madhya Pradesh, the state government takes major action. The district Collector and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district were removed from their position late at night. The new Collector of Mauganj, in place of Ajay Srivastava, has been appointed Sanjay Kumar Jain. Meanwhile, SP Dilip Kumar Soni was given charge of the place in the new SP, and Rasna Thakur stopped. Orders for these changes have officially been given.
Rasna Thakur, former SP, has been transferred to Police Headquarters, while Ajay Srivastava has been made Additional Secretary of the Madhya Pradesh Government Public Asset Management Department and the Addl. Managing Director, Madhya Pradesh State Asset Company. He has also been given the additional responsibility of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.
The actions come just days after one of two men, ASI Ramcharan Gautam and Sunny Dwivedi, was brutally murdered by a gang of tribal people on March 15. He later killed the hostage and then took the hostage. But when the police team came to save him, they had to deal with the stone pelters and died on the spot. ASI Ramcharan Gautam injured seven others, among which was a Tehsildar.
