Delhi Weather: Delhi-NCR witnessed a change in weather on the occasion of Holi on Friday. After the scorching heat in the morning, the sky became cloudy in the evening. Light rain or drizzle occurred in many areas, which made the weather pleasant. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Saturday, predicting very light rain with thunder. Mahesh Palawat, Vice President of Skymet Weather, said that there is a possibility of rain in Delhi and NCR.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of light rain, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph in the evening and night. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be between 35 and 37 degrees Celsius, and light rain is likely till March 17. The IMD has forecast cloudy weather and light rain or drizzle on Saturday. According to the department, the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be 34 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
Friday was the hottest day
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi witnessed the hottest day of this year on Friday, when the maximum temperature reached 36.2 degrees Celsius, which is 7.3 degrees above normal. Earlier, the highest temperature of this year was recorded at 34.8 degrees Celsius on March 11. According to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) was 193 around 4 pm, which falls in the ‘moderate’ category.
How will the weather be in the future
According to the Meteorological Department, the sky is likely to remain cloudy on Saturday. There may be light rain or drizzle in many areas, along with strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph. Clouds will remain on Sunday and Monday as well and there is a possibility of drizzle. The weather will change from Tuesday, due to which strong sunlight may cause discomfort to people. The weather is expected to remain clear on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
