The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict instructions to ban high volume DJs during Holi celebrations as he stressed the necessity to maintain law and order and have the celebrations be peaceful. He has asked for noise control measures to remain on a permanent basis for loudspeakers at religious places to keep sound levels in check and also to prevent disturbances.
However, at a law and order review meeting held on Wednesday, Adityanath directed officials to strictly enforce the DJ ban during Holi as well as to install CCTV cameras at key places like banks, commercial establishments and educational institutions for security reasons. This decision aligns with the state’s attempts to improve public safety and avoid any untoward incidents during heavy festivals.
He also stressed the need for severe punishment for cattle smuggling and instructed that the law enforcement agency take tough action against such smugglers, the vehicle owners, as also any police official found involved. As part of the state’s complete ban on cattle smuggling, ADG Piyush Mordia has been given the responsibility of district level review to ensure the same.
Yogi Adityanath directed officials to accelerate ongoing projects and ensure that there were no delays or inefficiency. For tracking development of the under construction projects, he ordered mandatory weekly inspection and progress report by using nodal officers on one per project. He observed delays in certain projects and urged the authorities to hasten work without compromising on the quality standards.
As summer draws near, the Chief Minister, in his directives to officials, asks them to ensure there is an uninterrupted water supply throughout the state.
Adityanath has ordered his government to set up designated vending zones in order to provide a legal support to street vendors not to be affected while doing their job.
The directives suggest the UP government will give top priority to law enforcement, security promotion and development to smooth Holi celebrations and effective governance.
