On the Indian box office, history drama Chhaava starring Vicky Kaushal, Rashmika Mandanna and Akshay Khanna keeps on running strong without any apparent signs of slowing down. In its first 25 days, the film broke so many records that now it has surpassed Pathaan’s lifetime domestic collection in Bollywood history itself.

Chhaava had collected ₹ 4.50 crore on its 25th day (fourth Monday). Even with a routine drop, the film was still able to pocket ₹4 crore on day 26, taking its Hindi version’s gross to ₹533.33 crore net in India. After this, Chhaava became the fourth-highest-grosser Hindi film of all time.

Going ahead, the next big moment for Chhaava is Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan which is running at ₹584 crore net in the Hindi market. However, the success of Jawan over this feat, could be possible but it will be the box office performance of the film in its fifth weekend, which will be important.

In fact, in terms of all languages, Chhaava has amassed its ₹543.89 crore net in India more than Pathaan’s domestic lifetime earnings of ₹543.22 crore net. Now its focus shifts to Ranbir Kapoo’s Animal that minted ₹554 crore net at the Indian box office.

But yet it is tough to overtake Stree 2’s ₹627.50 crore net. It may fall short of this benchmark even with steady earnings.

Chhaava has truly made a mark for one of bollywood’s biggest hit movies. Now that it is reaching its next step, eyes are turning to see if it can break Jawan’s record and run up higher on Bollywood’s films which have ever been the highest grosser.
